Sending Love and Peace

This is inspired by an ancient Zen Buddhist practice called Meta or LovingKindness Meditation, I have adjusted it to be scenario based for a practice you can do throughout the day.

As your loved ones depart to begin their day, send them these thoughts:
May they feel safe.
May they feel healthy.
May they feel loved.
May they feel peace.
May I feel safe.
May I feel healthy.
May I feel loved.
May I feel peace.

As you fill up your car with gas or buy your morning coffee, send this to a person whom you see, but do not know:
May they feel safe.
May they feel healthy.
May they feel loved.
May they feel peace.
May I feel safe.
May I feel healthy.
May I feel loved.
May I feel peace.

As conflict arises with someone, or if you are ruminating on an old pain or betrayal, bring that person to mind and send them these thoughts:
May they feel safe.
May they feel healthy.
May they feel loved.
May they feel peace.
May I feel safe.
May I feel healthy.
May I feel loved.
May I feel peace.

To a loved one who is away at college, on a business trip, or living far away, bring them to mind and send these thoughts:
May they feel safe.
May they feel healthy.
May they feel loved.
May they feel peace.
May I feel safe.
May I feel healthy.
May I feel loved.
May I feel peace.

To people who are suffering from pain, in the hospital, or feeling hopeless, picture them in your mind and send these thoughts:
May they feel safe.
May they feel healthy.
May they feel loved.
May they feel peace.
May I feel safe.
May I feel healthy.
May I feel loved.
May I feel peace.

If you do this throughout the day, you will not only contribute compassion and peace to others, but you are practicing self-compassion each time you wish well upon yourself. This cycle of love will truly change your life and the energy of those around you.

Sending you love,
