What? So What? Now What?
/Was April a bumpy month for you? If so, you aren’t alone. I’ve had many conversations this month about upsets, sudden illness, death, shocking news, disappointments, betrayal, accidents, and earth shattering moments.
Being human was hard for a lot of people this month.
My favorite experts who know planets, energy, and patterns in nature say that the eclipse caused a palpable energy shift and mercury retrograde was in full effect this month. As sensitive beings, we can feel the turbulent energy in our bodies and minds.
We know that turbulence happens before breakthroughs, so there is always hope, but when we are in the midst of pain it can be hard to find hope.
The universe taught some important and tough lessons this month, but May brings the opportunity for new beginnings.
Anytime you have a bumpy season of life, it can help to do some reflecting as you come out of the weeds of pain. When life gets turned upside down, it is an invitation to reflect, release, and re-align. It can be a course correction to get you on the path you are meant to be on. And for most of us, we get wake up calls from our bumpy seasons.
A simple process for reflection involves three steps:
1. What happened?
Make a list of all of the words that come to mind when you think of the bumpy season you just experienced. List all of the random things that come to mind. What happened this month? List it all.
2. So What?
What pattens do you notice? Why do you think these things occurred? Is there a lesson burrined in here for your personal growth? Is there something to release or allow to unfold? Are there themes to become aware of? Does all of this mean something in the big picture of your human journey?
3. Now What?
What will you do with this new learning? How will you go about life now? Was this a wake-up call? Are there things you need to adjust or realign? Is there a message of it is time for you to become more empowered or speak up? Is this a last straw? Is this a Cosmic 2x4 to get you on your path? What will you do with this experience?
Pain is never wasted.
It can being an invitation to apply new insights and experience growth. It increases our resilience muscles. It brings important messages to the surface. It helps us beomce more physically, mentally, and spiritually tuned in. When life is smooth, we don’t have an impetus to change. But when life gets bumpy, we seek solutions. And in that seeking comes growth.
Everything in nature is hard-wired to grow and thrive, but evolution occurs when we face adversity. Invite adversity to be your teacher.
Happy May, we are going into it together with new awareness, insights, and newfound strength.
