Re-Cognition

It can be a helpful practice to periodically ask yourself:

Above all else, what do I know for sure?

Reminding ourselves of what we know to be true can help us feel anchored in the storms and rough waters of life. When everything seems uncertain, hope can be found in remembering what you know as your own truth.

The word recognition originally comes from Latin meaning "to know again."
I think of it as to remember what I already know.

It is so easy in the struggles of life to lose sight of what we already know. No matter your age, you have learned a tremendous amount about life already. Pause right now and remind yourself of how far you have come, how much you have learned, and the wisdom you have acquired.

What is true?

In my faith life, I have had to often return to the question: What do I know is true?
None of us know matters of faith for sure - that is the very spirit of having faith. But, for each of us, there are personal beliefs that we feel like we can count on to be true. What are those beliefs for you?

I gave a talk on this recently for a United Methodist Women luncheon. I shared what I believe to be true about our souls, Earth School, God, eternal life, holy shifts, and higher consciousness. If you are looking for something to do for 40 minutes and be inspired to remember what you already know, here is a link to the video on YouTube. I start around minute 15. The whole event was lovely and hosts Lynda Shillito and Michelle Funk did a beautiful job hosting this event online. Pastor and Artist Ashley Morgan Kirk created this beautiful image of highlights as she listened to my process of re-cognition. I hope you find something to help you remember what you already know to be true.

Make a list in your phone or journal of what you know to be true. Return to it often while also allowing space for it to continue evolving. When you are seeking wisdom, come back to this list and remember what you know. Trust your wisdom and follow your own path of truth.

Being in Earth School with you is a joy!

Sending you love and peace,
