Revelatory
/Every minute of our lives is revelatory.
Everything that happens and everyone we encounter is revealing something to us.
Our emotions, longings, beliefs, jealousy, pain, disappointments, feelings of competition, self-criticisms, judgments of others, boredom, moments of bliss, breakthroughs, temptations, stuckness, delays, resistances, setbacks, gut feelings, chills, scarcity, laughter, joy, freedom - all of it reveals something deeper to us if we are willing and open to see what is being revealed.
What if each experience you have is revealing an invitation to learn more about love - love of others, love of yourself, love of God, love of life?
Nothing is wasted, everything is here to offer us a lesson in love.
Sometimes it isn’t obvious and we have to look deeper, but all of the lessons point us toward becoming more loving human beings. Most of my clients and readers do a pretty good job of loving others, but a lot of their revelatory moments point toward working on a greater love for themselves. More self-trust, more self-respect, and more self-compassion.
If you are going through something hard right now, try asking some questions introspective like these:
What is this trying to show me?
What is being revealed in my discomfort?
What part of me needs care, clarity, or courage right now?
This practice turns life into a sacred dialogue.
We begin to listen deeper. We approach life with curiosity. We soften toward unpleasant experiences when we lead with an awareness that growth can come of this experience. Our mistakes and messes begin to help us see who we want to become. We approach the day as if life is here to help me learn more about loving myself or other people.
If you are a journaler, here are some prompts to try to uncover what is being revealed to you, just choose one and see where it goes (or non-journalers, just grab a piece of paper and write what comes up; be unfiltered, unedited, and free-flowing):
Here’s what I’m feeling right now...[list all of the things swirling inside you]…then write “nothing is wasted, so what is all of this moving me toward?”…[list what insights you notice arising]
In this current experience, I hear life saying…
My soul has this wisdom for me…
What desire is this revealing or illuminating within me?
What pattern might this exposing for me?
What am I being invited to see here?
What part of me wants to ignore the potential for a bigger life lesson right now and why don’t I want to see it?
Why am I in a hurry to fix this, what might I learn if I sit in it a little longer?
Why do I have a tendency to want to sweep things under the rug and not feel them in this moment?
Why do I shame myself for this or why am I still shaming myself for this thing that happened long ago?
What lessons in trust, love, worthiness, peace, compassion, truth, and alignment are trying to come to me through this experience?
Try looking at every experience and every person you encounter this week as an offering to reveal something to you.
Everything has a message for you.
If you need help putting together the pieces of the puzzle, I’m here to help you.
Now is the time to see,
