Seeking

I’m sitting in Central Park on a Monday watching people walk by wondering what to write about for you to read on Tuesday.

I’m here working on a writing project about the world religions I’ve spent a year studying and what humans have been seeking spiritually since the beginning of time.

I feel most connected to humanity in a city of 8 million people from all over the world, so I’m here writing.

As I watch people walk by, I can’t help but wonder what they are thinking about, struggling with, searching for, worried about, trying to decide, or hoping for.

We are all seeking something.

We are seeking love, peace, joy, and hope.

We are seek answers to unanswerable questions.

We seek proof that we matter.

We seek recognition.

We seek closure.

We seek safety and security.

We seek wisdom and knowing.

We seek new experiences.

We seek evidence to support our theories.

We seek comfort and tenderness.

We seek entertainment, distraction, pleasure, laughter, and escapes from reality.

We seek adventure, serendipity, and highs.

We seek reassurance.

We seek beauty, inspiration, insights, and epiphanies.

We see friendship, intimacy, connection and belonging.

We seek someone to care for us.

We seek answers to prayers.

We seek something bigger than ourselves.

And so much more.

What are you seeking right now?

Spend some time this week gaining clarity about what you long for and why. Pondering our longings helps us be intentional about living. After you name some things you are seeking, then consider what small steps you could take to further than journey.

Do you need a person to help, book to explore, group to join, class to take, or help getting started? I have a week free of seeing clients, so respond to this email and let me know what you are seeking and I’ll give you a little guidance.

Seeking alongside you,
